BE – Political issues remain most important for the Belgian media agenda, but the share of this theme decreases slightly compared to October. Sports is still the second most important theme. 

NL – Politics remains the most important theme in November 2019 and the share of this theme increased. Sports become also more important.

BE – During this month of November 2019, the Belgian media emphasise more issues related to culture, sports, international and migration issues, political issues and issues related to employment, economy and consumption than the Dutch media.

NL – On the other hand, during this month of November 2019, issues related to associations, health and food, ecology, mobility, security, technology, housing and education are more covered in the Dutch media than in the Belgian media.

NL – In November 2019, the top five issues gaining most media exposure in the Dutch media are (1) security and justice, (2) companies and consumers, (3) politics and society, (4) EU and international issues and (5) housing.

BE – In November 2019, the top five issues gaining most media exposure in the Belgian media are (1) technologies, (2) economy, (3) population and associations, (4) security and justice and (5) politics and society.

NL/BE Comparison – 6 themes are different between Belgium and the Netherlands: (1) technologies (increasing in the Belgian media, decreasing in the Dutch media), (2) economy (decreasing in the Dutch media), (3) population and associations (rising in the Belgian media), (4) employment (decreasing in the Belgian media), (5) housing (rising in the Dutch media) and (6) EU and international issues (decreasing in the Belgian media).

For the top 10 of the most mentioned brands in the Belgian and Dutch media, 4 brands out of 10 are found on both sides of the ranking.

1.Facebook and Google are both present in the ranking. Facebook is the first brand in the Belgian and Dutch top 10, while Google is the 3rd brand in the Belgian and the second brand in the Dutch top 10.

2.Apple is also present in both rankings, on the 4th place. Mercedes is the last brand in the Belgian ranking and the 3rd brand in the Dutch ranking.

3.Dinsey is only present in the Belgian top 10: the launch of Disney+ is generating a lot of media coverage.

4.Eneco is only present in the Dutch top 10 (6th): Mitsubishi Corporation and partner Chubu Electric take over the Dutch company.
