YouTube’s fight against political radicalization

YouTube is rarely considered as a social network helping to fight against political radicalization. And yet, 2 researchers have attempted to prove the opposite. While they acknowledge the fact that there is content that can be considered as radical on the social network, they point out that this is the responsibility of the content creators, and not YouTube. Their study highlights the fact that YouTube’s algorithm is actually a valuable tool against radicalization, as it tends to promote content that is politically neutral.

It’s not the first time that we hear about a new AI able to work better than a human being. Today, Watson the brand-new platform from IBM, can automatically optimize any marketing campaigns. Moreover, the American multinational information technology company boasts about enabling workers to focus time on business priorities instead of personalization or improving marketing performance.  


Music streaming is stronger than ever in the US

The results from the latest Nielsen Music’s annual report are in! And for the first time ever, there were more than 1 trillion streams in the US in a full year. That is an increase of 30% in streams. The music industry has truly changed in the past couple of years and sales of physical albums now only account for 9% of the music consumption, while streaming services accounts for 82%. Interestingly, the report highlights hip-hop as the most streamed genre, with rock and pop following closely.
